Green Hope High School offers a sequential choral music program with a reputation of musical excellence. Our curriculum, which is based on the NC Essential Standards for Music, offers courses to accommodate beginning, intermediate, and advanced level singers. A focus is placed on theory, sight reading and ear-training as well as performing with proper vocal technique. Students experience performing literature in a variety of musical styles and various languages such as Latin, French, German, Spanish, Hebrew, and Italian. Opportunities are available for musical growth through ensemble and solo performance. Students who are proficient in piano have an opportunity to serve as student accompanists in our program. Students at Green Hope High School have an opportunity to participate in our Mixed Chorus, Sorelle Sound, and Voices of Hope.
What Makes Our Choral Music Program Special?
A strong emphasis is placed on improving overall musicianship through the study of theory, sight reading, and ear-training. Students will perform literature utilizing a variety of music styles focusing on the use of proper vocal technique, all in a positive, encouraging classroom environment.
